Philadelphia Stampless Covers, 1782-1853. Approximately 110 covers; includes a couple of 18th century usage including 1782 handcarried to Willistown and 1792 folded letter from Charleston, S.C. to Boston with "Rec'd under courier & forwarded Philad 26th April 1792" notation on reverse and "26 AP" Franklin mark on front, selection of early "Phi" circle postmarks with various rates including a section of war rate covers, later forwarder, 1830's octagon date stamp, host of 1840 postmarks including various circular types and usages including free franks, interesting circular usages, "Ship", some 1850's integral rate cds's, etc.; condition a little varied with clear readable strikes throughout, F.-V.F. Estimate $1,500 - 2,000.
