Bold full strike of two-line date stamp (type III) on folded letter to Glouster, Mass., manuscript "25" rate, Extremely Fine and choice, a stunning example of this rare postmark which is the listing example in the ASCC, most with file fold through postmark, ex Meroni. Estimate $750 - 1,000.
Florida territory was created on March 30, 1822 making this the earilest known territorial postmark from St. Augustine.
