1863, 2¢ black. Tied by "Rock Island, Ill, Oct 22, 64" cds and target duplex on 1860 1¢ Star Die entire to Nashville, Tenn. from prisoner of war at the Rock Island Barracks, blue "R.I. Barracks, Prisoners Letter, Examined" oval handstamp, with original enclosure datelined "Rock Island Prison, Barrack #9, oct 20th, 1864" with interest content… Genl. Joe Hooker inspected the prison today, a fine looking man.; light cover tone spot at left, Very Fine; with 1979 P.F. certificate.
