NGL Line Steamship "Main", New York 8th May - Southampton 18th May 1875. 3¢ Plimpton shaded advertising envelope posted at San Francisco April 29th 1875 addressed to Vevey, Switzerland with the prepayment cancelled. At New York the "NEW YORK PAID ALL BR TRANSIT / MAY 8" was struck. Prepaid the 10 cent closed mail via England rate of May 1871 using the 3 cent envelope and a 1873, 7¢ orange vermilion.
