NGL Line Steamship "Rhein". Envelope posted at New York March 27th 1875 addressed to London arriving there April 6th. Prepaid the 6 cent treaty rate to Britain of January 1870 using 1873, 3¢ green, horizontal pair cancelled by the New York Foreign Mail obliterator Weiss type GE-EN2/G1. The canceller Weiss type GE-EN2/G1 is recorded by him as in use March 30th - 3rd May 1875. These covers, 2 of 18 recorded with this stamp, extends usage back by 3 days.
