Allan Line Steamship "Scandinavia", Quebec August 20th - Londonderry August 29th 1870. Envelope registered and posted at San Francisco 9th August 1870 and routed overland to Quebec to be put on the Scandinavia. Addressed to Galway, Ireland and prepaid both the 6 cents treaty rate plus 8 cents registration using the 1864, 3¢ Nesbitt entire uprated with 1869, 2¢ brown + 1870, 3¢ green, pair and single. Letter landed at Londonderry with reverse bearing a Galway arrival stamp for August 23rd 1870 on reverse. Atlantic Transit of 9 days; stamp nick and cover edge restoration, Very Fine appearance.
