Ocean Line Steamship "Washington", Southampton September 10th - New York September 24th 1856. Entire posted at Peckelsheim, Prussia September 8th 1856 addressed to Kensington, Philadelphia. Routed through Aachen on September 9th and then closed bag to Southampton to be put onto the Washington. At New York the "N. YORK AM PKT 30 /SEP / 24" 30 cents charge was applied. At the Kensington the manuscript "32" was applied in crayon for an additional 2 cent carrier charge. Atlantic Transit 14 days; archival tape reinforcements at corners, F.-V.F. Estimate $200 - 300.
