Fritz Line Steamship "Hansa" (Third Voyage) New York - Southampton - Bremen 25th August - 8th - 10th September 1854. Entire dated "Lancaster 22nd August 1854" addressed unpaid to Baden. Stamped "NEW YORK BREM. PK / 5 / AUG / 24" manuscript rated "22" cents being the treaty rate to Baden introduced August 1853. On arrival at Bremen the scarce "24/29 Kr.R AMERICA UBER BREMEN" was struck being 24 Kreuzer packet rate plus 9 Kreuzer inland resulting in the manuscript "33" in blue. Atlantic transit of 15 days; few minor tone spots, otherwise Very Fine, few cover are known carried by Fritz & Lehmkul. Estimate $200 - 300.
