Collins Line Maiden Voyage "Arctic", New York - Liverpool 27th October - 7th November 1850. Wrapper file noted "New York 26 Oct 1850" addressed to London and endorsed "Arctic". Received the "NEW YORK / 21 / OCT / 26" departure stamp giving 21 Cents credit to the US. On arrival at Liverpool the manuscript "1" for the 1 Shilling packet rate was applied. Reverse bears London arrival stamp for 7th November. Atlantic transit of 11 days, Very Fine.
Estimate    $150 - 200.

The "Arctic", one of four sister vessels of 2,856 gross tons was built by William H. Brown of New York for Collins. Lost in collision on 20th September 1854 with over 300 lives lost.
