Collins Line Steamship Baltic Maiden Voyage. Entire dated "Chicago 20 Ocktober 1850" and posted PAID on the 24th addressed to Bouzenville in the Mosse, France. Arrived New York too late for the 7th November so was held over for the Baltic. Paid the 21 cents treaty rate of July 1849 with "21" in manuscript for carriage by American packet via Britain. Arrived Liverpool 28th November, reverse bears London transit of 29th where the "COLONIES / &c. ART 13" stamp was applied. Reverse also bears the Bouzenville arrival stamp for 1st December 1850; light tone spots, F.-V.F. Estimate $200 - 300.
