Inman Line "City of Washington", Queenstown April 21st - New York May 2nd 1864. Entire dated "Buenos Ayres March 12 / 1864" addressed to the wholesale druggists Lanman & Kemp in New York and endorsed "via Bordeaux" and routed through Liverpool. Markings include French Maritime marking "CONF. ARGENTINE SAINTONGE" in octagon, on arrival at New York the "NEW YORK AM PKT /MAY 2" arrival stamp was struck together with the double weight "60" cents and the "U.S. NOTES / 104". A manuscript "49" credit to the US was applied, probably at Liverpool. Atlantic Transit of 10 days; file folds, Very Fine.Estimate $200 - 300.
