Illustrated corner card envelope put into the posts at Wheeling, West Virginia on September 10th addressed to Halifax, Yorkshire. Prepaid the 6 cents rate of January 1870 using 1870, 1¢ ultramarine, split grill + 3¢ green, grill + 2¢ red brown. Reverse bears a Halifax arrival stamp of September 23rd. Atlantic Transit 10 days; stamps with some gum perf toning, otherwise Very Fine. Scott No. 134+136+146 Estimate $300 - 400.
