Cunard Line Steamship "Siberia", New York December 22nd 1869 Queenstown January 3rd 1870. Mourning envelope posted at Auburn, N.Y. on December 20th arriving New York December 22nd addressed to York, England. Prepaid the 12 cent rate of January 1868 which was reduced to 6 cents in January 1870 making this a late use of the earlier rate. Paid with 1869, 3¢ ultramarine, horizontal strip of four cork cancelled at the New York Foreign Mail office. Atlantic Transit of 12 days; right stamp with corner nick at top right, otherwise Very Fine. Scott No. 114 Estimate $300 - 400.
