Cunard Line Steamship "America", Liverpool September 1st - Boston September 12th 1855. Entire dated "Shanghai June 27 1855" and endorsed "Via Marseilles". Hong Kong transit for June 5th on reverse and that of London for August 30th 1855. On arrival at New York the "NEW - YORK BR PKT / SEP / 13" was struck and the "53" charge stamp for the USA - China treaty rate of December 1854. A manuscript credit to Britain of "48" cents was applied. Atlantic Transit 11 days, Very Fine. Estimate $300 - 400.
