Falmouth Packet during USA Confederation Period 1787. Folded letter originating at Philadelphia and addressed to Cork, unpaid. Routed to New York where it was placed aboard the Grantham packet. Rated 1/- packet rate at Falmouth, rerated 1/6 at London to cover postage to Cork, again rerated to 1/10d, adding 4d. Dublin to Cork (Act of 1784) for over 30 Irish miles; small stain spot, F.-V.F. Estimate $200 - 300.
