Great Britain Official Seals, 1871-1960. Collection of 42 covers, all bearing Official Post Office Seals and including an 1871 cover "found torn at P.O. & resealed" and postmarked over piece of selvage; a June 1897 cover from Canada with boxed handstamp "Damaged by Immersion in Sea Water" and since stamp was missing received a red London Paid handstamp and sent on to addressee in France, on reverse official seal label "V.crown.R" and French receiving postmark; other covers with seals from all reigns, mostly 4 Kings, with handstamped or manuscript notations; few interesting war related such as "Addressee is reported Prisioner of War", another "Addressee is reported Deceased"; many mounted on display pages with explanation; most interesting and unusual group, condition varies as would be expected.Estimate $500 - 750.
