(Massachusetts) Boston (British P.O.), red straight line handstamp on July 31, 1843 folded letter with mourning border from Kingston, Canada to Dublin, Ireland, written by Legislative Assembly member John Cartwright, carried on the Caledonia which departed August 1 and arrived in Liverpool August 13, reverse with "America, L" oval handstamp and red diamond arrival date stamp, manuscript "2" rate on front for double packet rate, Extremely Fine, this being one of four reported examples used from Canada, ex Arnell.
