(Alaska) Sitka, Alaska A.T., Oct 25, full bold strike of circular town postmark on ca. 1868-69 cover addressed to Portsmouth, N.H., franked with 1861, 3¢ rose (natural s.e. at left) tied by target cancel; cover tears and nick at top of cover, not affecting stamp or postmarks, professionally restored, otherwise Very Fine, an exceedingly rare usage from Sitka, Alaska and possibly the earliest known usage of the first Sitka circular town postmark.
