Hinckley & Co.'s Express, Denver City, Jan 11, 1861, mostly clear postmark on cover addressed to Golden City, Washington Territory and readdressed to Jefferson Territory (Colorado under Kansas territory), franked with 1857, 3¢ dull red tied by blue grid with matching "Alton, Ill., Dec 29" origin cds at left, endorsed "Via Hinckley & Cos Express from St. Joseph" at lower left; stamp edge flaws and cover slightly reduced at left, F.-V.F., a very scarce usage to the unofficial territory of Jefferson.
