Bannack City Express, clear strike of tombstone handstamp on cover to Tallmadge, Ohio, with manuscript "Free" at top as sent by the governor of Montana territory, Sidney Edgerton, "A.J. Oliver & Cos, Bannock and Salt Lake Express" handstamp, letter carried into Bannack City and then down to Salt Lake City with "T.D. Brown, Agent, S.L. City" handstamp applied upon arrival, Brown placing cover into the mails with "Salt Lake City, Mar 14,64" cds and target duplex, franked with 1861, 3¢ rose tied by target; reinforced cover edge wear & nick, repaired cover reduction at right, otherwise F.-V.F., a very rare free express usage.
