Via Tehuantepec, manuscript route endorsement on small 1859 cover to New Orleans, La., franked with 1857, 10¢ green, type II tied by "Visaila, Cal., Jul 5" cds; cover with sealed tear at top and light toning, F.-V.F. and rare, this route only operated only between Oct. 1, 1858 and Sept. 27, 1859 and handled very little mail, letters for carriage over the route had to have the route endorsement.
