Dobbin's Rancho, Sept 15th (Yuba), manuscript postmark (Williams YUB-500) with matching "Paid 3cts" rate on 1851 folded letter to San Francisco, letter states; "I am now engaged in a sluicing operation on Indiana Creek near Indiana Rancho two miles from Dobbins Rancho it is the Lower Co. only five miles from Frenchmans Bar. I am doing well with my sluice, we take out 20 to 200 (ounces) per day, five of us.", Very Fine, the earliest recorded postmark from this Post Office, ex B. Pearce.
