(Calaveras), light strike of blue three line postmark (Williams CAL-60) on folded letter to Stockton, Cal., franked with 1851 3¢ dull red (defective) cancelled by matching circle of V's, datelined "Carson Hill 1854", letter reattached internally to outer lettersheet, F.-V.F., only a handful of these exist, ex-Vogel, Oakley & Myerson, illustrated in Simpson. Estimate $600 - 800.
