Missouri City Jun 30, black cds and "Paid" in oval on homemade mourning cover to Pennsylvania, slight cover edge wear, Very Fine for this, a very rare cover. Estimate $400 - 600.
The cds has originally included "Kas" but this was chiseled out when it became part of Colorado Territory. The office operated until 1863. An evocative reminder of hardships on the frontier.
