Treaty Ports, 1888-1906 Canton to United States. 5 items; 1) 3¢ brown postal card to Connecticut, cancelled straightline "Canton Au 7 88", and with small two-circle dater having "New York Sep 10" in left circle, and "Paid All B" in right circle, "West Winsted, Conn / Transit 11 Sep 88", and partial "Colebrook" arrival cds. 2) One cent QV postal card (minor tear at top) to Washington DC, with 2c carmine added to make up 3c rate, cancelled straight-line "Canton Ap 23 89", and large, red "San Francisco Cal May 21" also on front. 3) One cent QV postal card to Astoria, NY, with 2c carmine added to make up the rate, cancelled straight-line "Canton Mr 23 91", and with small two-circle dater having "New York Apr 30" in left circle and "Paid All PO" in right circle, also "Long Island City, Ny Rec'd Ap 30 1891". The two-circle "Paid All" daters are seven and 10 years later, respectively, than recorded by Winter (type 265b: 24 Jan 77 - 2 Oct 81). 4) To Sacramento with QV 10c red cancelled "Canton De _ 97" with "*" index, and on back faint "Hong Kong _ 15", "san Francisco Cal Ja 17 1898", and "Sacramento, Cal Jan 17 98 Rec'd". 5) Post card (real photo of Canton river) to St. Louis, with 4c red KE stamp cancelled "Canton B Sp 25 6" (Webb type Dv recorded 1905-7 with single digit year). Also "Victoria Hong Kong 26 Sp 06", and "Seattle Oct 1 1906", F.-V.F.Estimate $300 - 400.
