To San Francisco, California, postmarked with red two line "Paid To Panama" applied by the British P.O. in Valparaiso, and red colored pencil "1/"rate which paid the half ounce letter rate to Panama, black "Panama Mr 13 1862 B" British P.O. in Panama transit cds in the middle, partial black double line "San Francisco Cal Ap 6 1863" receiving cds and hand-stamped "20" cents due (steamship rate for over 2500 miles), black manuscript "Via Panama" routing instructions in the upper left corner, faint black "Valparaiso 18 Fe 1862" British P.O. cds on the reverse, Very Fine, ex Jessup, Pearce.
