Lot 1331

1861, 10¢ dark green, First Design. Rich color, tied by red grid on cover to Nassau, Bahamas, stamp affixed over manuscript "Paid 10c", fresh and Fine, very unusual usage -- the manuscript "Paid 10c" and absence of postal markings (other than the grid) are enigmatic -- Adderly & Co. was a Bahamas mail forwarder who handled blockade-run mail during the Civil War.
Scott No. 62B    $1,700.

Realized: $180
