Metropolitan Errand and Carrier Express Co., 1855, 1¢ red orange. (perfectly cut to shape, clear of design all around) on 1856 cover (with enclosure) to Massachusetts in combination with 1851 3¢ dull red (cut in) tied by "New York" cds, local additional tied by Metropolitan boxed "Paid" handstamp, Very Fine and choice, an extremely rare usage "to the mails" in combination with United States stamps, only two genuine combination usages are believed to exist (other ex-Golden), this being by far the finer of the two, ex-Middendorf.
