Straight line postmark on cover to Yale College in New Haven Conn. with magenta manuscript "Paid 40" & "San Francisco" cds & matching "Paid" in red, handstamped "Forwarded" & two strikes of "Advertised", the "Paid 40" & San Francisco "Paid" have been crossed and replaced with a manuscript "6" rate to indicate the 5¢ forwarding fee and 1¢ advertising fee, cover with piece out at center, which has been crudely repaired & some edge wear, Fine, a very rare postmark & an interesting usage. Estimate $750 - 1,000.
