Taylor's Express. Manuscript express marking on folded letter to Sacramento City, enclosure datelined "Springs 10 Feby 51" with contents regarding Springs and Salmon River, Very Fine, considered to be the earliest recorded example of this short-lived express.
Estimate    $500 - 750.

In M.C. Nathan's book "Franks of the Western Expresses", it states that L.W. Taylor started his express from Shasta to Sacramento, California in June of 1851. However, the above folded letter predates this start time by about four months.
