Prisoner of War Covers, Southern Prisons - General Hospital, Richmond, Va.

Confederacy, General Hospital #21, Richmond, Va., cover and letter from Cpl. Gideon Draper Smith, 1st West Va. Cav (Union), "Due 6" in circle ("Due 6" rather than "Due 3" as the prisoner did not endorse as POW) on cover to Illinois, postmarked "Old Point Comfort, Va. Mar 10" double circle postmark, included is original letter datelined "Richmond, Va. Feb. 24, 1864" stating "I am still a prisoner of war. I am in tolerable good health and in good spirits. I am in hopes that there will be an exchange soon.", Cpl. Smith died a few days later, minor corner wear, Very Fine and a rare Prisoner of War cover.
