Aug 8" double circle at left, manuscript endorsement at left "Prisoners Letter" and pencil censor's initials "JL" (Lt. John Latouche, Adjutant) at right, F.-V.F.Estimate $750 - 1,000.

Brown must have had stamps in his possession when captured, albeit damaged ones. The stamp on this cover is the mate to the damaged stamp used from the same correspondence from the prison in Winchester.
