Confederacy, General Hospital #21, Richmond Va., cover from Sergt S.P. Timmons, Prisoner housed in General Hospital #21, to his father in Clarksburg, Ohio, manuscript endorsement "From Sergt S.P. Timmons, Prisoner of War, Richmond Va." at lower left, postmarked "Old Point Comfort, Va. Jan 25" (1864) double circle with "Due 3" straight line handstamp, minor staining at top left, still Very Fine and a rare Prisoner of War cover.
Estimate    $400 - 600.

Sgt. Timmons, 1st Ohio Inf. died Sept 16 and Andersonville of ulcers. The letters written by Timmons are housed in the Duke University Library.
