Confederacy, Charlottesville, Va., 1861, 10¢ blue, blue straight line "Paid" and "10" rate handstamp on cover to Newberry, S.C. with matching "Charlottesville, Va., Sep 1, 1861" cds, with "10" handstamp revalued to "20" and again to "30" in manuscript, postmaster's manuscript "Wm M K" control initials in upper right corner; small sealed tear at top, Very Fine, the Crown census lists only one other 10¢ usage (not revalued) as well as only one 5¢ usage, this example is certainly the finest of the three; with 2023 C.S.A. certificate.
