Three steamboats named "Music" were in operation on the Mississippi between 1843 and the Civil War. Two were built for Ferdinand M. Shreck who acted as their Master. This was the first "Music" of that name of 198 tons built at Jeffersonville Ind. in 1843. This "Music" was sold to Capt. Celestin Dalferes of Assumption Parish, La and was off the lists of registered vessels by 1849.
