Grand Era (Mississippi & Red Rivers), mostly bold and well struck illustrated handstamp featuring a steamboat on 1853-55 3¢ Nesbitt (manuscript cancelled) to New Orleans, typical pinholes usually seen on Hoy correspondence, Very Fine, ex-Somdal, Illustrated in Milgram.

AN EXCELLENT EXAMPLE OF THIS RARE AND ATTRACTIVE HANDSTAMP - THOUGHT TO BE THE ONLY KNOWN EXAMPLE.

Listed in Klein as a printed corner card, this marking is one of the few containing an illustration of a steamboat. This steamboat was dismantled in 1864.
