The Low Pressure Steamboat Swallow, printed broadside (9½ x 11¼) in frame, lovely illustrated design of the Swallow from New York to Albany & Troy with sailing time & fare $1 (Deck Passage 50¢), cira 1837, some minor staining.Estimate $500 - 750.
The Swallow was built in New York City and began running nighttime passage between New York City and Albany in 1836. It had a wooden hull nearly 100 yards long and weighed 426 tons. She was later lost in one of the most infamous river disasters in 1845.
