Mexico, 1822, Mexico, Franco En (Mexico), blurred yet discernible handstamp on 1822 folded letter sheet from the personal correspondence of Agustin de Itubide, the First Emperor of Mexico to Guatemala, with perfect strike of fancy oval "Generalisimo Almirante" cachet handstamp used for only for a short period, Very Fine; with 2019 M.E.P.S.I. certificate.

AN EXTREMELY RARE COLONIAL COVER FROM THE FIRST EMPEROR OF MEXICO, AGUSTIN DE ITUBIDE, DURING HIS SHORT TIME AS GENERALISIMO ALMIRANTE.

Agustin de Itubide was crowned on July of the same year, with cachet used very briefly was when he had the title of Generalisimo Almirante. This cover with this cachet is most likely unique. He was in power very briefly and correspondences from the First Empire are very scarce. This being the most important cover.
