1870, 12¢ dull violet, H. grill, N.B.N.C. printing, neat Bulleye's cancel, perfect centering with large even margins, deep rich color rarely found on this value, full perforation all around, clearly defined grill points, an Extremely Fine gem, ex-Sheriff, Dr. Hinrichs and Morton; with 1971 P.F. certificate as a pair, 1986 and 2001 P.F. certificates and 2016 P.S.E. certificate, last Graded (XF 90, SMQ $7,500).

THIS STAMP IS EXCEPTIONALLY RARE TO FIND IN SUCH OUTSTANDING CONDITION, BOASTING VIBRANT COLOR, PRECISE CENTERING AND GENEROUS MARGINS.

IT STANDS OUT AS A SUPERB REPRESENTATION OF THE 1870 12¢ NATIONAL BANK NOTE COMPANY GRILLED ISSUE AND IS UNQUESTIONABLY ONE OF THE FINEST SPECIMENS.

This is the highest grade recorded and the only example awarded this exalted grade.
