British Guiana, 1843 Demerary to Liverpool, England, folded letter headed "Demera 3 July" and redirected to Surrey with 1d red-brown imperf affixed paying the forwarding charge and canceled by attractive black Maltese Cross, fuzzy Demerara date stamp, Townsend type 8 of JY and London arrivals on reverse, possibly the earliest known stamped cover from Br. Guiana, F.-V.F.Estimate $300 - 400.
