(Expositions) Brockton (Mass.) Fair Postal History Collection, a wonderful collection of picture postcards, illustrated ad covers and a host of other ephemera items neatly displayed and written-up in two large binders; with approximately 180 picture postcards illumination various aspects of the fair as well and a series of beautiful women and horse illustrated advertising cards (lithos. from artist Chas. W. Holmes) and other related, includes real-photo card of President Taft visiting the fair in 1911 with other Taft related cards including additional visit to the fair in 1912, host of birds-eye view of the fair, Equestrian related views including horse races, real-photo parade views, nice section of Knabenshue's Airship and Grahme-White Biplane cards including scarce real-photos, also 1909 & 1910 balloon ascension cards, etc., covers mostly fair adverting from 1892 on including patriotic with flag (endorsed "Balloon"), unused postal wrapper, Columbian entires and illustrated horse & horse racing related advertising cover from 1899 on through to 1919 (some unused), ephemera items including scores of contemporary newspaper articles, tickets, fair books, early photographs depicting trapeze artists, etc.; a wonderful collection and ideal for further continuation.Estimate $2,000 - 3,000.
