Hawaii, 1854 Tahiti to New Bedford, Mass., folded letter datelined "Otaheite (Tahiti) February 17th, 1854" to New Bedford, Mass., postmarked "San Francisco, Cal., Apr 16" clear sharp strike of cds with matching "Ship" and "12" rate handstamps, letter with interesting content from captain of ship…This is to inform you that I am here repairing which I presume will much surprise you. After leaving Wahoo (Oahu) my ship leaked badly and I put in at this place…I did not repair much at Wahoo as that was such a very bad & expensive place., Very Fine.Estimate $750 - 1,000.
