1858, 5¢ brick red, type I, perfectly centered within large margins which are clear of design on all four sides, sharp early impression with fiery brick red color, light cancellation, Extremely Fine and choice; with 1989 P.F. & 2023 P.S.E. certificates, latter Graded (XF 90, SMQ $5,100), only six grade higher, all at "95".Scott No. 27 $1,450.
A SUPERB USED EXAMPLE OF THE 1857 5¢ BRICK RED. ONE OF THE FINEST EXAMPLES IN EXISTENCE AND IN OUR OPINION SHOULD QUALIFY FOR THE GRADE OF "95".
