Sep. 14" (1864) double circle postmark, included is original multicolor Union Patriotic lettersheet datelined Staunton, Va. Aug. 25, 1864 from Pvt. James Ford, "I have been captured on the 17th, do not worry fore I safe and sound", cover with flap missing & light tape stain at top, lovely Very Fine appearance; signed MacBride.
