Horace Maynard, Washington D.C.", both covers forwarded to Nashville, Tenn. as Maynard not in Washington at the time, the first letter datelined "Belle Island Jan. 14, '64", requesting food supplies in monthly quantities, second letter datelined "Belle Island Jan. 17, 1864" written on behalf of five different privates in Co. G of the 2nd Tenn. Mounted Inf. requesting "we understand we can get 100 hundred lbs rashing per month", first cover franked with faulty United States 3¢ rose (65) and tied by segmented cork second cover with Due 6 handstamp, both postmarked Old Point Comfort, Va.
