Confederacy, Camp Sorghum, Columbia, S.C., manuscript "Prisoner's Letter" and "Via Flag of Truce, Charleston, S.C." on adversity cover (made from printed shipping invoice) from Lt. John Austin, Co. K, 5th Iowa Inf. addressed to Clarksville, Ohio, additional manuscript "Ex" (Confederate censor) mark, postmarked "Old Point Comfort, Va. Jan. 18" (1865) double circle with matching "Due 6" in circle handstamp, Very Fine and unusual adversity usage.
Estimate    $300 - 400.

Lt. John W. Austin, Co. K 5th Iowa Inf. was in Camp Sorghum until 12/12/64 and moved to Camp Asylum, timeline suggests he was there when this was mailed.
