Pittman, Benn, Phonography, all over advertising on immaculate buff cover franked with 1857 3¢ dull red tied by "North Lawrenceville, Mass." cds and addressed to New York, cover with imprint of "Benn Pitman, Cincinnati, Ohio" at bottom, light cover crease, Very Fine and choice.
Estimate    $200 - 300.

Benn Pitman (1882-1910) was a stenographer and founded the Phonographic Institute to promote Pitman shorthand. In addition to working as a shorthand reporter, he wrote many books including a biography of his brother, Sir Isaac Pitman.
