Australian States: Victoria, 1854, Queen Victoria ("Wood Block"), 6d dull orange, block of four, clear to large margins, tied by "19 V" barred oval handstamps on fresh oversized folded letter sheet to the Paymaster of Police in Melbourne prepaying the quadruple inland letter rate (6d per ½oz.), with manuscript "O.H.M.S." endorsement at top, reverse with "Hamilton, Victoria, My 5, 1855" origin date stamp and receiving date stamp, Very Fine and choice, this being the only recorded block of four of the 1854 6d issue on cover, ex-Purves; with R.P.S.V. certificate.
