Australian States: Tasmania, 1858, Queen Victoria "Chalon Head", 1s vermilion, imperf, two singles, both with large margins all round, tied by neat barred "52" in oval handstamps on 1864 registered cover from Ross to Secunderabad, India, straight line "Registered" handstamp at center and red "Post Office, Launceston, Sp 23, 1864" date stamp additionally tying left stamp, reverse red Bombay transit and "Secunderabad, Oc 24, 1864" receiving backstamps; central cover opening tear at top and portions of backflaps missing yet only slightly affecting receiving postmark, still Very Fine, a choice franking and rare cover to this unusual destination, ex-Prof. E. Bombieri. Scott Nos. 16.
