1903, 1¢ blue green, booklet pane of 6, with plate no. "3472" over left stamp, position D, o.g., four stamps hinged at top, bottom stamps never hinged, rich deep color, bright and fresh, F.-V.F. for this. Scott Nos. 300b $8,750.
AN EXTREMELY RARE EXAMPLE OF THE 1903 1¢ BOOKLET PANE WITH MISPLACED PLATE NUMBER - WITH ONLY EIGHT EXAMPLES RECORDED.
This plate number position error was a result of the plate number being entered over the 5th stamp to the right of the central guide line rather than over the 4th stamp as was the normal position.
